Math Tutoring (Grades K – 7)

Math is my primary focus as a tutor. I work with students of all ages, but primarily focus on grades 3 – 7. Math looks very new and different these days to both students and parents. Many of my friends and family members come to me for advice on how to solve problems the "Common Core Way".. I can definitely help with that, as well as teach students critical thinking skills for problem-solving.

Prealgebra Tutoring

Pre-Algebra can be a confusing and frustrating subject for some students. I try to break down the steps and apply a “real-world” approach to learning not only HOW but WHY we need algebra. I feel that if students have a deeper understanding of number sense and critical thinking, then Algebra comes a lot easier to them. This approach has helped many of my students in the past. Most times, students just need a little extra practice and one-on-one coaching in order to become successful on their own.

Homework Help

Homework Help is ONLY offered to students using Eureka/Engage NY, Open Up Resources, and Delta Math. This helps ensure that problems are solved as they are likely solved in class (since I am familiar with these curriculums). Homework Help sessions are shorter lessons designed specifically to help with homework problems and can be scheduled as needed and as available.  

Sometimes you just need a quick little bit of help to get unstuck with a homework problem or assignment. My students may send me a message including a copy of the problem(s) with which they need help. I'll review them and, if I have time to help, I'll open up a session. 

EOG Test Prep

Could your child use extra practice with EOG style questions in math and/or reading? I can help with that! We'll tackle sample questions by standards, review test taking strategies, and take full practice assessments to build stamina.

Summer Sessions

Want to give your child a boost of confidence as before entering the next grade? Sigh-up for 3 months of tutoring over the summer! We'll review standards from the previous year and/or dig into the standards for the upcoming year. Avoid summer learning loss!

Rates and Monthly Enrollment:

Rates may vary, depending upon the situation.

Hourly Rate: $50 per hour
Homework Help: $12 per 15 minutes

Monthly enrollments are offered at significantly reduced hourly rates. Remember my sessions are one-to-one. Most chain tutoring companies have student to teacher ratios of 6:1 or 3:1 and private tutoring is $60 and up! 

Basic Monthly Enrollment

Enrollment includes to 8 one-hour sessions per month on a continual monthly basis. Your child will receive personalized one-to-one instruction and a customized learning plan. Continued attendance during the summer is strongly recommended to avoid summer learning loss and give your child a boost of confidence heading into the new school year. 

Fee: $320 per month

Premium Monthly Enrollment

This plan is just like the basic plan except your child can meet with me for one-hour for up to six days per week (Monday-Saturday). That means your child could have as many as 24 hours of one-on-one math instruction per month!! That's over a $1,000 value! This is a great way to get your child caught up or help them get ahead. 

Fee: $640 per month

Summer Sessions

With this plan you get 12 one hour sessions that can be used any time between June 1 and August 31. This is generally one session per week. If you are looking to help your child catch up or get significantly ahead over the summer, twice per week is recommended. You would need to purchase another group of 12 sessions. 

Fee: $540

There is an additional fee of $125 at the time of enrollment. This fee covers the comprehensive math diagnostic assessment and access to an online learning platform that uses the results of the diagnostic assessment to create a personalized learning plan designed to fill in learning gaps.
